St. Francis Borgia Retreat Program 2011-2012 Several retreat experiences are available for members of St. Francis Borgia within the youth ministry program. Parents, young adults and high school seniors are particularly invited to participate as leaders or chaperones. The following retreats abide by an age-appropriate format. High school students MUST attend a retreat in either 9th or 10th grade as well as the overnight Confirmation retreat. Middle school retreats are optional but highly encouraged!
Holy Hill Summer Retreat is open to youth in middle school and high school. Join us in this beautiful setting as we explore various ways to pray. See God in nature as we hike through the Ice Age Trail. Feel peace as we climb the Stations of the Cross hill. Experience the benefits of guided meditation. Feel our Mother’s love as we pray the rosary. We will attend Mass and listen to a presentation about this amazing place. Plus, there will be free time to explore the grounds, climb up to the viewing tower and visit the gift shop!
The Shrine of our Lady of Good Help Retreat The Shrine of our Lady of Good Help is located in a peaceful farmland area Northeast of Green Bay. We will attend a retreat entitled “Mary in our Life Today” directed by Fr. Francis J. Hoffman, known as “Fr. Rocky” on Relevant Radio. This retreat includes recitation of the rosary, talks from the presenter, time for quiet reflection and Mass. The apparitions of Our Blessed Mother that have occurred on this site are the first and only in the United States to be officially approved by the Church. Feel free to visit the website for more information: www.shrineofourladyofgoodhelp.com/index.html. This retreat is open to the general parish community, however, our Youth Rosary Prayer Group especially invites teens to attend. Space is limited so register early for this very special opportunity.
Get Locked-In to Leadership Retreat Get Locked-In to Leadership is an opportunity for middle schoolers from the Ozaukee County Catholic Parishes to develop leadership skills in a fun lock-in event! High school youth leaders are needed for small groups and games.
NET Ministries (National Evangelization Team) is an international traveling retreat team of young adults who direct retreats for middle school and high school. We are excited to offer this high energy experience using large group presentation, small group discussion, music, drama, faith sharing and prayer. Families are needed to host team members for overnight lodging. Retreat Dates:
Wisconsin Catholic Youth Rally Another exciting retreat option is the Wisconsin Catholic Youth Rally. This event hosts about 1,000 teens from across the state for a day of “engaging fun, dynamic presentations, uplifting music” with a youth liturgy and Eucharistic procession. Overwhelmingly, teens are grateful that they took the time to get away with a group of their peers for reflection on faith and life on the beautiful campus of Mount Mary College.
11th Grade Confirmation Retreat Grade 11: The Confirmation retreat is a one-night experience that is essential to the preparation process. Those who have registered for Confirmation Preparation will receive details about this retreat during their sessions. All high school Confirmation candidates are required to participate in this retreat. Retreats are held at TYME OUT Youth Center. Choice of retreat dates:
The high school retreat requirements may be fulfilled at one of our collaborating parishes if a scheduling conflict arises. Additionally, those attending Catholic high schools meet the requirements by attending their 9th and 10th grade school retreats, however, are always welcome to attend the parish retreats. Please contact Maria Spenner at 377-1070 ext 228 for information.
