Update #8 – Some Funds Already
Spent on Needed Remodeling
Some funds from Faith In Our Future have already been allocated and spent for
the addition to our parish rectory to accommodate a second priest, and the remodeling
of our parish offices.
Father Dan and Father Tom are very happy to be living on site in the parish rectory,
with adequate private space and communal space. This is a direct benefit to the
parish and our Catholic school, because the former rectory (the Fr. Ed Center
where Father Mike lived), has been given over entirely to the school and child
care. The school was in desperate need of additional space, and this was the
only space available.
The parish center was remodeled to give slightly larger office space for the
parish office, youth ministry, and music ministry; and an office for our associate
pastor. The total cost from Faith In Our Future for these projects was $295,000.
Here is some great news. Archbishop Jerome Listecki strongly and gladly supports
our project to build a new Education & Activity Center to house over 1,000
children in our Christian Formation and Catholic school programs. Faith In Our
Future is alive and well, and with the archbishop’s blessing and encouragement,
we are entering Phase Two, to raise the final $2+ million.
Update #7
- New Education & Activity
Center Will Be for Entire Parish
The hope of the parish is that our new building will be a true education
and activity center for the entire parish, not just used for our day
school students. In the evenings and on weekends, it will be used to
educate parish youth. In addition, with more space and a building that
is handicap accessible, it will also be used in the evening for adult
education. We foresee computer classes in a modern computer lab, more
adult faith formation classes, more gym time for high school CYM teams,
a place for our seniors to walk, perhaps a place to socialize and meet.
Can you envision the day when after weekday Mass, parishioners go to
the Education & Activity Center to walk and then share a cup of coffee?
Can you see a place for religious materials that can be checked out or
a place for pamphlets to be disseminated? We cannot do all this in our
current buildings. We don’t have the space.
We are 75% of the way to our goal. Please consider a gift to the Faith
in Our Future Campaign. It will be put to good use.

School co-principal Kelly Swietlik)
Update #6 – Why Share Pledges? Without the Archdiocese,
We Could Not Exist
We are still accepting pledges to Faith In Our Future. Because we reached
our archdiocesan goal of $1.5 million, we now keep 80% of all funds raised,
and share 20% with the FIOF Trust. This is a great incentive to make
a gift now!
We actively support and affirm the portion of our funds that goes to
the FIOF Trust. The funds we share with the archdiocese are not “lost”
to us. They build up the church in our archdiocese. This was Archbishop
Dolan’s original intent. In fact, without the archdiocese, we could not
exist. We are Catholics, a worldwide family of faith, and we willingly
accept our ties to the wider church.
Recently Archbishop Listecki indicated a strong interest in helping us
achieve our goal. He will be sending a letter and coming to Cedarburg
in spring to rejuvenate our campaign for the last $2 million.
Keep up the prayers and conversation, and send
us your ideas.
If you would like to make a gift, but need special consideration, we
would be happy to work with you.

Scott Hill and Andy Schlidt, pastor Fr. Tom Eichenberger and associate

Update #5 – Work Proceeding on Architectural Drawings and
Bids
The head of our Building Leadership Team (BLT), John Dorr, is meeting
with our architect and builder to secure architectural drawings for our
new building. Bids will be solicited once we have drawings, to give us
the actual price of a new building.
Meanwhile, $2+ million or so is needed. The Faith In Our Future follow-up
committee will discuss and implement creative ways to raise this additional
and final funding. If you are especially dedicated and excited about
the idea of our new Education and Activity Center, please join this committee,
which is meeting March 1. We need your ideas and helping hand to keep
our project moving forward.
Pray for the success of Faith In Our Future. Send
us an e-mail
with your constructive comments and offers to help.

Update #4 - Closing the $2 Million Gap – Majority of Families
Haven’t Yet Pledged
We need $8 million. We have $6 million through a combination of cash
on hand, pledges from our prior campaign, proceeds from Faith In Our
Future, and eventual sale of our old school. We can
close the gap if more of our parishioners make a Faith In Our Future
pledge. Pledge cards are available online or contact
the parish office.
Do you know of a business, family trust, or foundation
that can sponsor a room in the new building? Let’s get creative and turn
up the heat to close out this campaign! Send
us your ideas.

Scott Hill and Andy Schlidt, pastor Fr. Tom Eichenberger and associate
pastor Fr. Dan Janasik.)
Update #3 – 75% of the Way to Our Dream: Just $2 Million
Short
Here is where we stand with funds donated to our Building Campaign:
$3.5 M - What we have now in cash
$0.7 M - Pledges we expect to receive from the previous campaign
$0.8 M - Pledges to Faith In Our Future (adjusted to show what stays
with the parish)
$1.0 M - From eventual sale of old school
$6.0 M
Since we need about $8 million, we are short $2 million. We are 75% of
the way to our dream, and we will not stop now. We hope to increase donations
to Faith In Our Future. Can you help us with your prayers and pledges?
Let us know if you have a special offer, need, or request. We can work
with you. Please send
us your ideas.

pastor Fr. Dan Janasik.)
Update #2 – Short of Parish Goal, But $1.75 million Brings
Us Closer to Start of Building
We were successful in surpassing the goal set for us by Bishop Callahan
and Archbishop Dolan. We are also closer to our goal of building a new
education and activity center on our north campus to serve over 1,000
children in Christian Formation and our Catholic school. Faith In
Our Future has been a big step forward. Thank you to all who have
contributed!
Just 25% of our 2055 households have participated. Is this a sign that
our parishioners do not support the building project, do not support
the archdiocese, or just don’t have the money to contribute at this time?
We now keep a growing share of the pledges. Up to the $1.5
million goal, we kept 60% and the FIOF Trust retained 40%. Now the split
is 80/20, with 80% remaining with our parish. This is a greater incentive
to make a pledge at this time. How about it? Will you join us in having
faith in our future? Please send
us your comments.

Scott Hill and Andy Schlidt, pastor Fr. Tom Eichenberger, and associate

Update #1 – SFB Pledges Surpass Archdiocesan Goals – But
Fall Short of Parish Hopes
To date we have received Faith In Our Future pledges
of $1,650,000 which surpasses the goal set for us by Bishop Callahan
and Archbishop Listecki. Thank you! Sixty percent of these funds remain
in the parish; the FIOF Trust receives 40%.
On the other hand, we had hoped to raise over $4 million to that we
could quickly begin building our new education and activity center. We
fell substantially short of that goal, and our participation rate was
only 25%. If 25% could pledge $1.6 million, how much more would 75% participation
have raised? We are still waiting, hoping, and praying for the other
75% to respond. Please join us in having faith in our future.

Scott Hill and Andy Schlidt, pastor Fr. Tom Eichenberger and associate

Weekly Updates Have Begun
Beginning January 31, 2010, weekly updates began to appear in the
parish bulletin, to keep parishioners informed about the status of
the Faith In Our Future campaign. These updates will be available
here on the SFB Faith In Our Future website.
Turkey Trot Results
Thanks to everyone who helped pull off a successful SFB Turkey
Trot on Thanksgiving morning. More than $2,000 was raised for the Faith
In Our Future campaign. A special shout out goes to the Wroblewski
Family and Fiddleheads for donating coffee and cider for the post-run;
the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Department for traffic control on the course;
and all of the pre-race and on-course volunteers. There is no way the
event could have gone on without your help!
Shifting Your Building Appeal Pledge
If you made a pledge to the Building Appeal and you would like to simply
shift that pledge over to the Faith In Our Future campaign,
please indicate on the outside envelope the word “rollover.” We
will then know that your current Building Appeal pledge, as well as any
increased contribution, will now be going to the three-year Faith
In Our Future campaign, which will also benefit the building project.
Please do not send any future FIOF payments to the parish office. All
future communications regarding your FIOF pledge status and payment options
will be mailed directly to you from the Trust.
