Additional Information
Volunteers in the Inner City Ministry help Milwaukee’s
poor and homeless, especially with donations of food and used clothing
to shelters
such as Repairers of the Breach and the House of Peace.

Volunteers can choose to help with any of the
following:
St. Francis Borgia has an ongoing clothing
drive for men, women and children. Parishioners should pack their
donated clothing in bags labeled
for men, women or children. The bags are to be taken to the garage/drop-off
center at the back of St. Francis Borgia School. Enter through the side door, and place
the bags on the labeled shelves.
Volunteers pick-up and deliver
donated clothing and leftover pastries on weekdays. The clothing pick-up
is from the garage/drop-off center
at the back of St. Francis Borgia School. The food pick-up is from
a local convenience store. Delivery is to Repairers of the Breach and
the
House of Peace on the near north side of Milwaukee. Volunteers are
scheduled approximately twice per month.
Each weekend, volunteers pick up
donated food and pastries from Piggly Wiggly, Panera Bread and a local
convenience store. Delivery is to
Repairers of the Breach and the House of Peace on the near north
side of Milwaukee.
- Food and Clothing Drives
- Used coats, hats and mittens (Fall)
- “Pocket food” for the homeless (Lent)
Food and clothing drives are publicized in the parish
bulletin and in parish website news.
The rummage sale is usually held at the St. Francis
Borgia parish festival.
The time commitment is dependent on what
you choose to do and how many persons volunteer to help. Those scheduled
for weekday pick-up and delivery
of food and clothing are typically scheduled twice per month. The commitment
for Saturday pick-up and delivery is about once a month.
