Easter
Sunday 2008
March 23, 2008
The Easter Triduum continued through all of our Easter Sunday morning Masses,
with joyful singing and many alleluias. On Easter morn, Catholics everywhere
renewed the vows of their baptismal faith in Christ, crucified and risen from
the dead. We were baptized into Christ’s death. And all were sprinkled
with new water from the font.
Easter
Vigil 2008
March 22, 2008
The Easter Vigil marked the holiest night of the year and the climax of the Easter
Triduum. The service began with an outdoor blessing of the Easter fire, and service
of light. Then the new Easter candle was placed in the sanctuary as a pillar
of fire, and all received a small Easter candle to share in the light of Christ.
Scripture readings were proclaimed from the Old Testament, recalling the path
of salvation history that came to fulfillment in Jesus. Then with alleluias,
incense and song, we heard the gospel of Christ’s resurrection! We welcomed
new members to our faith community as we witnessed the Rites of Christian Initiation
for our catechumen and candidates.
Good
Friday
2008
March 21, 2008
The second liturgy of the Easter Triduum celebrated Jesus’ saving death
on the wood of the cross. The cross is the altar on which Jesus gave his life.
We heard the Passion narrative from St. John ‘s gospel. Then we joined
in a moving, personal veneration of the cross as everyone came forward to genuflect,
touch or kiss the cross of our salvation.
Holy
Thursday 2008
March 20, 2008
The Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday was the first Mass of the
Easter Triduum. We celebrated the Last Supper and the gift of the Eucharist,
Jesus washing the apostles' feet, and the institution of the priesthood. Everyone
joined in the great procession with the Holy Eucharist to our downstairs chapel
for a few minutes of quiet prayer.

In late September our parish welcomed six visitors from our sister parish, St. Paul the Apostle in Mukono, Uganda -- Fr. Paul Ssebitoogo, Nancy Banana, Tom Kasujja, Dr. Anthony Kkonde, Denis Lule and Dennis Yiga. Their stays with us were from 10 days to three weeks, depending on personal flight arrangements and time spent with others in nearby states. Thank you to all who helped them feel welcome at Mass, at their reception in the parish hall, and the following weekend at the Ministries Fair. And many thanks to the twinning committee and all those who were personally involved in providing hospitality and friendship to our Ugandan friends – including meals, lodging, activities and transportation.

Parish Ministries Fair
October 6-7, 2007
The Office of Stewardship and Development hosted a Ministries Fair on the weekend of October 6-7. This hadn’t been attempted on a total parish basis since before our Cedarburg parishes were merged. The effect was rather awesome. The church hall was full of ministry booths and parishioners asking questions and tasting various foods made available by each ministry. The atmosphere was further enlivened by the wonderful music of our visiting friends from Uganda.

Confirmation
June 3, 2007
In spite of weather warnings, Bishop Richard Sklba came to St. Francis Borgia on Sunday, June 3 to confirm 86 of our high school students. In this important and beautiful service, our Confirmands completed their sacramental initiation into the Church, strengthening them to be witnesses for Christ. Far from being the end of their religious education, Confirmation is just the beginning of a deeper relationship with Jesus and the Church.
May Crowning

Sanctuary/New
Organ
Winter-Spring 2005
Our sanctuary and church are beautiful! Click on the photos below to see
the Marianne Huiras Memorial Organ, donated by parishioner Ralph Huiras in memory of his
wife. As part of the sanctuary renovation for the pipe organ installation, there is also
a new altar, ambo (pulpit) and crucifix. The tabernacle has been moved to a 13-foot high
pillared canopy shrine at the west front wall. All of this was completed just in time for
the May 1 Confirmation Mass with Bishop Sklba. The organ couldn’t be used at Mass until
after the 1800 pipes of the organ were voiced (tuned). Our patient waiting was rewarded as
the beautiful sounds of the new organ accompanied our hymns of praise and thanksgiving to
God at the Pentecost Vigil and on Pentecost Sunday, May 14-15.
