Other Prayer Opportunities Morning Prayer A small group of faithful parishioners gathers at the south church on most weekdays (Monday through Friday) at 7:30 a.m. to pray together before the 8:00 a.m. Mass. If Mass is held at the north church, then morning prayer is held at that church. You are invited to join us at any time. Liturgy of the Hours books are provided. These books are an official prayer book for Catholics. The books are full of psalms, short scripture readings, and petitions for each day of the week. Morning prayer is generally not held on holidays. Check the calendar to verify whether morning prayer is scheduled for any particular day.
Catholics believe that Jesus is truly present – body, soul and divinity – in the Blessed Sacrament. A consecrated Host is placed in the monstrance on the altar. There must be at least two people present in the church, as the exposed Eucharist can never be left alone. When the Blessed Sacrament is exposed, it is respectful to genuflect on both knees (or one knee) when entering or leaving the pew. You may quietly pray, read scripture, say a rosary, meditate on the life of Jesus, or use some of the prayer materials provided. You can sign up for a regular hour or as a substitute. A sign-in sheet is provided at the entrance. Eucharistic adoration is held at SFB-South on Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The recitation of the rosary takes place during the last hour. For more details and contact information, see the
The rosary has been a treasured Catholic devotion for many centuries. We often recite the rosary to pray for peace and reconciliation, to express penitence, or to pray for an end to the suffering of those who battle poverty and hunger every day. The rosary can be prayed individually or as a group. At St. Francis Borgia, we pray the rosary regularly as follows:

The Divine Mercy Prayer Group meets every Monday from 8:45-9:15 a.m. after the morning rosary during eucharistic adoration at the south church. The Divine Mercy Chaplet is prayed on rosary beads, based on revelations to Sr. Faustina, who has since been canonized as a saint. Please come and pray for your intentions, and the needs of our parish and world. All are welcome. For more details and contact information, see the Also see "The Chaplet of The Divine Mercy".
Grace Bohl Memorial Prayer Chain Whenever prayers are needed, anyone can call to have their intention prayed for by members of the chain. You may call the parish office (377-1070) and we will forward your intention. The request remains on the chain indefinitely or until asked to be removed. The Prayer Chain list is reviewed and revised at least once a year. To become a member of the prayer chain, choose whether you would like to be on the day or evening list for calling. After you receive a request, you pass it on to the next person on the Prayer Chain list until contact is made, and the chain is not broken. You may pray as the Spirit leads you, formally or informally. For more details and contact information, see the
