Electronic and Online Giving
Electronic giving: authorizing transfer of funds (bank accounts or
charge cards)
Electronic giving is an electronic funds transfer (EFT) that is fast,
secure and a convenient way to give your donations directly to St. Francis
Borgia Parish. With your authorization, your bank will automatically
withdraw your contributions from your designated checking or savings
account, or, if you prefer, your specified debit or credit card will
be charged. Whether you wish to give automatically at regular intervals
or as a one-time gift, you can decide how much and how often to give. To
begin giving electronically on a one-time or ongoing basis, whether from
your checking or saving account, or by charging to a credit or debit
card, just print out and complete the simple
Authorization Agreement.
Online giving: making payments through the website (charge cards)
The online giving program offers you the opportunity to make contributions
using a credit or debit card. The online giving program has some exciting
features. You can update your information, see your payment history,
and change the amount or date that you wish to give by creating your
own profile.
If you have used the online giving program in the past, and would like to create a profile to manage your account, go to the Online Donation page (through the Give Now button above) and click the “Create Profile” button. Make sure to enter the same
email address that you used to make previous contributions, and a temporary password will be sent to you.

Q: What is the difference between electronic and online giving?
- Electronic giving, also called electronic funds transfer or
EFT, is the authorization of regular deductions from a checking or
savings account. This is done through an Authorization Agreement, which
may also be used to authorize regular charges to a credit or debit
card.
- Online giving offers the opportunity to make
contributions through a safe and secure link from our parish website.
Donors set up a profile which then allows them to view payment history,
and to change amounts or payment dates.
Q: Are electronic and online giving options new?
St. Francis Borgia Parish has offered the electronic giving option, processing
electronic fund transfers (EFTs), for several years now. It is only
recently that we have added the option of online giving, and the ability
to use credit or debit cards (through both electronic and online giving)
for either one-time or ongoing contributions.
Q: Why should I switch to Electronic or Online Giving?
- Reduce the number of checks you write, and the paperwork that goes
with it.
- Never miss a giving opportunity because you forgot your cash or checkbook.
- Support the important work at St. Francis Borgia even while out of
town or on vacation.
- Enjoy peace of mind, knowing we use the best e-security available.
Q: Are electronic contributions risky?
No. An electronic contribution is safer than writing a check; it can’t
be lost, stolen or destroyed in the mail. All EFT transactions are regulated
by the Federal Reserve and are governed by strict national rules and
guidelines. Over four billion EFT transactions are processed annually
in the United States. We further protect your safety by utilizing the
latest technology in e-security. All EFT transactions are processed through Vanco
Services.
Q: Are online contributions risky?
No. All contributions are processed through a safe and secure service, Vanco
Services.
Q: Is there any charge to me from my bank to give electronically?
No. Electronic funds transfers carry no bank fees.
Q: How can funds be withdrawn directly from my checking or savings
account?
Only with your authorization. No one can deduct money from your account
automatically unless you specifically authorize it by completing the
Authorization Agreement. The Agreement is available online and in the
Gathering Area at the north church.
Q: When would this automatic contribution be taken from my account?
When you sign up to give automatically, you select the start date that
you would like your contributions to begin. You can contribute weekly,
monthly or make a one-time contribution for general church support, and
you can contribute one time or monthly for our other funds. The start
date, however, must be at least three days from the current date, and
deductions that fall on a weekend or holiday will be taken out on the
next banking day.
Q: Can I designate my giving?
Yes, with either electronic or online giving, you can give to general
church support, Christian Formation, Endowment Fund (Parish or School),
Human Concerns, St. Vincent de Paul, or Uganda Twinning.
Q: What if I want to use online giving to automatically give my tithes
weekly and to support another fund once per month?
If you want to designate more than one type of contribution online, but
each at a different frequency (e.g., monthly, weekly, etc.), you must
complete the online registration process for each contribution separately.
The process only takes about 5 minutes each time through.
Q: What if I want to change the amount of my online contribution or
how often I give?
When you register for the online giving program, you can create your
own profile and password to manage your account. You will be able to
view your contribution history, change the amount and/or date that you
give, and update your profile information.
Q: What if I change banks or accounts?
If you are giving electronically, you will need to complete and sign
an Authorization Agreement
(also available at the church) for any changes made to any of your account
numbers. If you are giving online, you can change any credit/debit
card account numbers through the Online
Donation page.
Q: What if I move or lose my job and need to cancel the automatic deductions
through electronic giving?
You can cancel at any time. Contact our parish accountant at 377-1070,
ext. 237 or send
an e-mail to stop the automatic deductions from coming out of your
account.
Q: If I’m no longer writing checks to the church, but giving
electronically through withdrawals from my checking account, how do I keep
my checkbook balance straight?
Your contribution is made on a pre-established day, so you can deduct
it from your check record for that day.
Q: How can I keep a record of the amount I have contributed?
Upon registering for online donations, you have the option to create
your own profile which will allow you to view your contribution history.
Your bank statement will also provide you with an itemized list of all
automatic giving transactions. In addition, St. Francis Borgia will continue
to send you quarterly and annual contribution reports that are acceptable
to the IRS.
Q: How do I participate in the weekly offering if my contribution is
automatically deducted from my bank account?
Giving electronically is a wonderful convenience that enables you to
put away your checkbook and pen and to focus on God and the inspirational
music that is provided during the offering.
Q: Who do I contact at St. Francis Borgia if I have more questions?
Please contact our parish accountant at 377-1070, ext. 237 or send
an e-mail to address your questions and concerns.
Q: How do I get started?
You can sign up for automatic contributions from either your checking
or savings account by downloading our Authorization
Agreement and returning
the information to the parish office. To make an online contribution
using a credit or debit card, please click here to
proceed to the Online Donation page.
Electronic and online giving are the easiest ways to support St. Francis
Borgia Parish and our many ministries. Your support, in any form, is
always appreciated. As always, your contributions are tax deductable
as allowed by law.
