Public Masses have resumed at St. Francis Borgia

Please base your decision about coming back to Mass on what is best for you and your family. Archbishop Listecki has given dispensation from attending public Mass through August 2, so no one is obliged to attend Mass until after that time. The parish is not able to eliminate risk, only to mitigate it. Reasons to stay home:

  • If you have a fever, cough or other indications of illness, please stay home.
  • If you have been sick in the past week, please stay home.
  • If you are health compromised, please stay home.
  • If you’re not comfortable being in larger groups of people just yet, please continue to stay home.

If you will not be attending weekend Mass at church, please participate in Sunday worship through streamed or other broadcast Masses. Click here for more information for both Sunday and weekday Masses.

For those attending weekend Mass at church:

Our Mass schedule is the same as before the pandemic. You are encouraged to wear a face mask.

Sunday Morning – 8 a.m.
Sunday Morning – 10 a.m.
Sunday Evening – 6 p.m. (please wear a mask at this Mass)

Low-gluten hosts will be available for those needing them. Please alert an usher prior to Mass, and he/she will make sure one is consecrated for you.

Families with young children – we welcome all of you! Please be sure to help your children observe social distancing.

Here are some resources about what to expect when attending Mass:

  • Updated “Back 2 Mass” guidelines are posted here  – including arrival, seating, communion, collection and departure information
  • Instructional video from Fr. Patrick (recorded prior to our return to public Masses, on the weekend of May 30-31)

Overflow information: If the church (upstairs) and hall (downstairs) are full according to social distancing and capacity rules, you are invited to wait in your car in the parking lot and listen to or view Mass on your phone:

  • 4:30 p.m. Mass – To listen to the Mass on your phone, call 1-301-715-8592. The Meeting ID is 896 9410 1295#

Can you help?

With all the extra precautions and procedures, we need some extra hands to assist with Mass – people willing to serve as ushers and people willing to stay after Mass and help our maintenance staff with cleaning.

Ushers: Only those age 18 and older are allowed to serve as ushers at this time. We are so grateful for our younger usher helpers, but they cannot assist until restrictions are lifted. Ushers must wear face masks at all times. They must also be willing to follow specific directions and be comfortable with providing guidance when seating parishioners. Each Mass has a head usher designated. This person will assist new volunteers in understanding their duties.

Cleaning: Parishioners of all ages may assist with cleaning, but those under age 18 must be with a parent or guardian. Directions for those tasks are shared on site.

If you would like to volunteer for either of these jobs, please go to our SignUp Genius link and add your name. If you’re not a computer person, contact the parish office (262-377-1070) and they can assist you.
