Education: Bachelor’s degree in Music and Spanish from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX, where she studied organ under Dr. Robert Bennett. As of February 2019, is finishing a Master’s in Sacred Music at the University of St. Thomas, studying organ with Dr. Jeong-Suk Bae.
Prior Experience: Most recently served as Assistant Music Director at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Sugar Land, Texas, where she directed three choirs, a youth string orchestra, and founded and directed the annual St. Theresa’s String Camp. Performed as an organ recitalist at various churches in the Houston area. Some recitals have included a recital of music entirely from Spain and Latin America and the Dupré Stations of the Cross. With special interest in Chant, she has set Spanish psalms to music, using the church’s psalm tones for the verses, and the Spanish Introits to a simple chant tone, as well as adapting some of the Gregorian antiphons to the corresponding Spanish texts.
