Registration

If you are interested in enrolling in our Christian Formation program, and you are a parish member, please see the Registration Information on the Parent Materials page, and return the registration form to the parish office.

If you are not yet a member of our parish community, then please register with the parish.

Roots Youth Group

“Roots” is a weekly Scripture study, social gathering for the high school youth of St. Francis Borgia. We meet every Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. in the basement of the South Church. We gather and first spend some time socializing and connecting with other young people. Then we dive into a Scripture passage and talk about how the Scriptures relate to our lives. All high schoolers and their friends are invited to join us.

Through Roots, we organize service, social and prayer events for all the young people of high school age at St. Francis Borgia. We would love to hear about events you would like to see happen here.

The Youth Core Team is a group of high school students who meet about once a month to plan and implement these programs. High school parish members are encouraged to join the Core Team. We also need adult support for youth events and gatherings. Please consider sharing your time in making a difference in the faith lives of our young people here at St. Francis. If you are interested in joining the Core Team or helping out as an adult, contact the Associate Director of Youth Ministry.

Service Requirements

Jesus himself modeled service for us. As members of the Body of Christ, and in his name, all those anticipating involvement in the parish Confirmation preparation program will be called to service in the Parish Community, Local Community, and Worldwide Community.

To enter into the parish Confirmation preparation program, each person is required to offer about 12 hours of service in each of the three communities as commissioned by Christ: Parish, Local and Worldwide. This service program is designed for grades 6-10.

The pdficon_small Service Program Explanation describes the purpose of the program and lists a range of opportunities for fulfilling these service requirements.

Service hours can be filled out on the pdficon_small Service Record Form.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Director of Youth Ministry regularly publicizes volunteer opportunities, some tied to specific dates and some ongoing, that will help young people earn their service hours in the various service categories referred to above. Watch for volunteer opportunities to be posted in the bulletin and on the “Volunteer/Share” page.

Retreats

Several retreat experiences are available for members of St. Francis Borgia within the youth ministry program. Age appropriate retreats are available for students in Grades 8 through 11. Parents, young adults, and high school seniors are particularly invited to participate as small group leaders or chaperones. See the Retreat Program page for details and permission slips.

Catholic Youth Ministry (CYM) Sports

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee sponsors parish-based sports leagues for Catholic youth in high school. Players must be parish members in grade 9-12 who participate in Christian Formation programs or Catholic high school education. Volleyball and basketball teams are formed in the fall of each year. The volleyball teams are co-ed and practice usually begins in late October with season-ending tournaments in December. Basketball teams are formed for boys and girls and the season usually begins in January with tournaments ending in March. Adults are needed as coaches and coordinators.

2017 CYM Volleyball – To sign up, use this online registration form. Registration deadline is October 11.

Service and Faith Enrichment

The Director of Youth Ministry will from time to time post communications that invite the youth of St. Francis Borgia to participate in activities and events that call them to celebrate, explore, or put into practice an important facet of their Catholic Christian faith. For details, see the Service and Faith Enrichment page.

Fundraisers

Various fundraisers are held during the year to help support our summer mission trip, youth conferences, and other youth events. Your financial support and prayers are greatly appreciated.
