Easter 2017: A message of Joy from Archbishop Listecki

Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It can sometimes be hard to be a believer in today’s ever-increasing secular world. We may feel a little alone and out of place as television, radio and social media highlight the Easter Bunny, candy, toys and egg hunts. Oftentimes, when pondering our Catholic faith at this festive time, we might ask ourselves, “Do I really believe this?”

I’m here to tell you that yes, I whole-heartedly do! My heart and soul tells me that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life – those who believe will have eternal life. What joyfulness to feel that in your heart.

May the Spirit of the risen Christ bring great joy to your hearts this Easter, and may you abide in that joy for all your days.

Sincerely yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Jerome E. Listecki
Archbishop of Milwaukee
