Informational meetings about a pilgrimage to walk a section of the Camino de Santiago in Spain will take place after the 4:30 p.m., 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Masses on Mar. 23-24 in the church hall.
The trip is scheduled for June 19-29, 2020, with the walk beginning on June 21. The trip will be a time of renewal, fellowship and growth in personal faith.
Participants (age 18 at time of travel) and older will walk 72 miles in five days. So those interested in the trip should take their physical condition into consideration. The projected cost is $3,500 to $4,000 per person and includes flights from Chicago, lodging and meals.
The Camino de Santiago, also known in English as the Way of Saint James among other names, leads to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Greater in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain, where tradition has it that the remains of the saint are buried. Many follow its routes as a form of spiritual path or retreat for their spiritual growth.
