Everyone is invited to participate in a community Food Pack for Hunger Relief at Trinity Lutheran Church (N60 W6047 Columbia Road in Cedarburg) on Saturday, Sept. 23. It’s a wonderful way for those of all ages – from grade-schoolers on up – to come together and help feed hungry people in countries such as El Salvador and Haiti.
Three 90-minute shifts are available – 9-10:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. and 12-1:30 p.m. Volunteers will work in assembly-line fashion to fill bags with a measured amount of uncooked rice, dehydrated soy, vegetables and vitamins. Sit-down jobs are available for those who don’t wish to stand the whole time. Donations to help pay for the cost of the food and shipping are appreciated, but there’s no fee to participate.
You can sign up as an individual or as a group. If you’re interested in signing up for a shift (or more), please contact Linda Staley in Trinity’s church office at 262-377-0610 or see the Trinity Lutheran Church website for her email address.
