Fr. Tom Wittliff – sad news

It is with great sadness that we inform you that Fr. Tom Wittliff passed away on Thursday, Mar. 12. He was 82 years old.

For many years, Fr. Tom always enjoyed visiting our parish and presiding at our liturgies, including many daily Masses. In his lifetime, he struggled with numerous health issues, especially in the past two years.

We all knew him as a kind, loving, generous, humorous, and faithful “ol’ soul.” Having had a strong and faithful devotion to Mary, Mother of God, there is no doubt that he was greeted at the gates of heaven by the Blessed Virgin, whom he always called “Our Mama.”

He was lovingly known as the “Bishop of Bay View” and to his St. Thomas More family he was often called, “St. Tom.”

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Well done, Fr. Tom, good and faithful servant!
