Helping hands needed for Aurora at Home Hospice

Are you looking for a rewarding way to put your faith into action? Aurora at Home is seeking hospice volunteers. Training is provided and no nursing experience is necessary.

The duties include: visiting hospice patients in their own homes, reading to them, holding a hand, chatting, playing games or just watching TV with the patient – anything a good neighbor might do. Volunteers do not transport or do personal care.

The time commitment depends on the patient’s needs, but visits are generally a couple of hours each visit. Services are not always needed every week.

Interested persons are invited to an informational gathering on Wednesday, Jan. 31 in Conference Room #5 at the Aurora Grafton Medical Center, 975 Port Washington Rd. There is no formal presentation. Drop in anytime from 1-3 p.m. to learn more. Applications will be available.
