In 1882, Venerable Fr. Michael J. McGivney, founded the Knights of Columbus to build the bonds of unity among the men of his parish and to engage them more fully in living their Catholic faith. He recognized the critical role faithful and active Catholic men play in the life of a parish, community, and most importantly in the family.
Since 1957, the San Salvador Knights of St. Francis Borgia Parish have been a growing force for good, helping the poor and needy, supporting our priests and seminarians, promoting the teachings of the Church, defending life at all stages, and providing a supportive network of like-minded Catholic men. We encourage one another to live our faith more fully and strive together to be faithful, loving husbands; strong, engaged fathers; worthy disciples of Christ; and examples of Christian service. We stand solidly behind the Magisterium of the Church and are supported by popes, bishops, and priests, including Brother Knights Archbishop Listecki and Fr. Patrick, who serves as our chaplain.
Today, nearly 2 million Catholic men have answered Fr. McGivney’s call to serve Christ in His Church and in our communities as Knights of Columbus. Won’t you please answer the call and become a Knight today? There is so much good to be done and so much more our Band of Brothers can accomplish with you in our ranks.
