NCYC was definitely action-packed and fun-filled. Although I wasn’t sure what to expect, starting every morning with a concert at 8 a.m. was not what I imagined. I loved it, though. The music got everyone excited for the day and eager to listen to the speakers.
The talks were so interesting and inspiring and they prompted a lot of introspection. After meeting in the Lucas Oil Stadium, all 25,000 of us walked over to the conference center. Here we traded souvenirs, met people from all around the country, listened to more music, and attended other lectures. We also headed to downtown Indianapolis for lunch with our groups.
Although this was all great within itself, it wouldn’t have been the same if I hadn’t gone with such a perfect group of people. Everyone made it easy to be enthusiastic, even when running on five hours of sleep or less. We ended each night in our hotel playing games or singing along to the ukulele.
My favorite part of the whole experience, was definitely the closing Mass. It felt so powerful to be saying prayers and singing along with so many other people from all over America. I am so blessed to now have so many memories from NCYC and a new momentum in my faith. ~ Grace Babor
