Substance Addiction Ministry announces Sept. and Oct. events

The SFB Substance Addiction Ministry (SAM) invites everyone to these upcoming events.

Sept. 14 Building Resiliency: How do we as parents, help our children avoid drug and alcohol use? (7-8 p.m., Church Hall)

Bonnie Halper LPC will help us understand “resiliency”; building it in ourselves as we model it to our children. We will learn helpful parenting skills on what to do if a loved one is using drugs or alcohol. Don’t miss this informative session which will help you stay empowered on these important issues.

Oct. 12 – Hope and Healing: Overcoming adversity through stories, songs and prayer (6:30-8:00 p.m., North Church)

Ben Wagner, a Catholic musician, storyteller and songwriter, will share stories and lead us in song and prayer as we pray for those touched by addiction. With the power of prayer you can make a difference. Please come and share your time for this cause. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be available from 7:15 – 8:00 pm.
