The MacCanon Brown Homeless Sanctuary (MBHS) serves the 53206 ZIP code – one of the most impoverished areas in our country. Those served by the shelter include “doubled-up” families (living under one roof in crowded conditions) and many at imminent risk of homelessness. At the current time, many of the guests are in underheated or unheated living spaces, so there is a great demand for space heaters.
If you would like to donate a new or gently-used space heater, please leave it in the Inner City collection site on the east side (Covered Bridge Rd) of the North Church campus. Be sure to note “MBHS” on the item. Our volunteer drivers will take the donations to MBHS for you.
Other urgent needs at MBHS are winter coats (all sizes and genders), winter boots, blankets, gloves/mittens and hand warmers. At this time they are not accepting “general” clothing donations. Again, please be sure items are labeled “MBHS.”
Non-labeled donations in the Inner City collection site are divided between MBHS, House of Peace and Repairers of the Breach – based on the current needs at each site. Thanks for your generosity and kindness!
