Welcome, Susan DeMarco Our new Director of Liturgical Music

St. Francis Borgia Parish welcomes Susan DeMarco as our new Director of Liturgical Music. She begins her job on Monday, Jan. 14. Susan’s hiring concludes a long search process to fill the position. It also begins a cross-country adventure for Susan and her family, who will be relocating from Texas.

After studying music and Spanish at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Susan spent more than 13 years working in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Most recently, as Assistant Music Director for St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land, TX, she served as organist and director of three choirs (English and Spanish), and director of a youth string orchestra. She is also nearing completion of a Master’s degree in Sacred Music.

Susan and her husband, Eric, have three sons: Eric, David and JohnLuke. Growing up in a large farming family near a small Texas town, Susan was immediately drawn to Cedarburg during a recent visit.

“My hometown was also known for its festivals, so visiting here felt like coming home,” she said. “We fell in love with Cedarburg and how friendly the people were. It’s a beautiful and charming place.”

If you’ve ever considered joining our choir, this might be the right time. “Anybody can learn to sing in a choir,” Susan stated during a recent interview. “Our choir rehearsals will be focused but fun.”

We joyfully welcome the DeMarco Family to St. Francis Borgia Parish and Cedarburg!
