Habitat – Ozaukee seeks candidates for 2019 housing build (Grafton) News

The next Habitat project in Ozaukee County will be a two family duplex on Wisconsin Avenue in Grafton. The organization is currently looking for applications from families who qualify for a Habitat for Humanity home.

In order to qualify for the home ownership program, individuals and families must be a legal resident of Ozaukee County; meet the Area Median Income (AMI) range of 60-80 percent; demonstrate acceptable credit history; and have been denied a conventional mortgage.

In addition to these requirements, families who partner with Habitat for Humanity agree to provide 250 hours of sweat equity to help in the construction of their new home. If the family is physically unable, friends and family can donate their time as well.

Please encourage those who might qualify to apply for the home ownership program on the Habitat for Humanity website. You can also assist the project in moving forward by offering a cash donation on the Habitat website.

Watch for further information in the months ahead about how you can volunteer to help with the build.
