The Peter Wollner American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 288 is inviting all Auxiliary members, family and community friends to gather at the Cedarburg Legion Post (corner of Hilbert and Portland) on Saturday, Jan. 20 for a chili lunch at 11:30 a.m., followed by fleece-tied blanket making in the afternoon. If chili isn’t your thing, you’re invited to come and help with the blanket making from 12:30-1 p.m. Those with sharp, cloth cutting scissors are asked to bring them along.
With winter upon us, the veterans in the transitional programs at Zablocki VA Medical Care Center will appreciate the blankets for warmth and comfort. These veterans are in programs for PTSD, alcohol recovery, and other service related issues. Your gift of time will be a blessing for them.
