On Friday, January 22, pro-life advocates from across the Archdiocese of Milwaukee joined together in prayer on the 43rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade. Archbishop Jerome E. Listecki celebrated Mass at St. Francis Borgia parish in Cedarburg with priests from various parishes in southeastern Wisconsin, including our own Fr. Justin Lopina. The evening commenced with a rosary and concluded with a gathering in the church hall. The sounds of infant voices throughout the Mass made the message of the evening poignant, yet joyful at the same time. After Mass, many visitors from neighboring parishes commented on the beauty of the liturgy, music and choir. On June 14, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), our
pastor Father Patrick Burns, preceded by servers and Fr. John Burns, led parishioners in a Eucharistic Procession at the end of the 10 a.m. Mass. Many participated on this beautiful day, following Fr. Patrick with the monstrance from the church across and around our parish grounds. They paused to kneel and pray in a grassy area along Hwy NN. The procession continued back into the church where the Eucharist was then reposed. Having a Eucharistic Procession is a beautiful tradition of the Catholic Church, which deepens our devotion to the Eucharist and is a public witness to our faith in the Real Presence.
