Photos of Parish Life Food Blessing and Easter Vigil 2023 Blessing of the FoodAll were invited to bring any food and ingredients that were used in Easter meal preparation on Sat., April 8 at 12 p.m. on the North Church Plaza. It is tradition to bring the Easter food to Church in order to give thanksgiving to God for the food and for the fellowship that we are about to share.Easter VigilEaster Vigil began at 8 p.m. at the North Church with the lighting of the Easter candle on the North Church Plaza. Afterwards parishioners processed into the Church with their lights candles to celebrate Jesus rising from the dead. 12 people were welcomed into the Church that night. Following Mass, a reception was held in the North Church to celebrate the new members into the Catholic Faith. Holy Thursday and Good Friday 2022 The Easter Triduum was celebrated at the North Church on Holy Saturday, April 16. Mass began at dusk with lighting of the Easter Candle on the plaza of the North Church followed by a procession into Church to celebrate the rising of our Lord Jesus Christ. A beautiful welcome celebration was held for those being baptized, receiving their First Communion, Confirmation and being welcomed into the Church. The Easter Sunday Masses brought back joyful singing and many alleluias to celebrate that Jesus Christ is risen! Catholics everywhere were reminded of their baptismal faith in Christ, and all were sprinkled with new water from the font. These photos were taken at the 9 a.m. Mass at the North Church, with Fr. Patrick Burns presiding; and at the 10 a.m. Mass at the South Church, with Fr. Steven Avella presiding. Holy Thursday 2019 April 18, 2019Holy Thursday is the day that Catholics commemorate the three pillars of their faith: the sacrament of the Holy Eucharist, the priesthood, and the Mass. Father Patrick Burns presided at the Holy Thursday Mass of the Last Supper, held at 7 p.m. This was the beginning of the Easter Triduum celebration. The washing of the feet, symbolic of Jesus washing the feet of the apostles, is an important element of Holy Thursday.
