Photos of Parish Life Food Blessing and Easter Vigil 2023 Blessing of the FoodAll were invited to bring any food and ingredients that were used in Easter meal preparation on Sat., April 8 at 12 p.m. on the North Church Plaza. It is tradition to bring the Easter food to Church in order to give thanksgiving to God for the food and for the fellowship that we are about to share.Easter VigilEaster Vigil began at 8 p.m. at the North Church with the lighting of the Easter candle on the North Church Plaza. Afterwards parishioners processed into the Church with their lights candles to celebrate Jesus rising from the dead. 12 people were welcomed into the Church that night. Following Mass, a reception was held in the North Church to celebrate the new members into the Catholic Faith. Deacon Kevin's First Sermon Shortly after being ordained, Deacon Kevin Tanel joined the parish for daily masses at the South Church and weekend Masses at the North Church. Among preaching at daily and weekend Masses, he was involved with Totus Tuus and visits with parishioners. Matthew Welcome Weekend Deacon Kevin's First Sermon Corpus Christi Procession 2022 May Crowning 2022 Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday 2022 Holy Thursday and Good Friday 2022 175th Anniversary Brunch and History Gallery October 6, 2019Following the 10 a.m. 175th Anniversary Mass on October 6, our school hosted a celebratory brunch and history gallery. The celebration included a complimentary continental breakfast and gallery exhibits prepared by grade level, telling the history of St. Francis Borgia Parish through our students’ eyes. Students worked on these exhibits throughout the 2018-2019 school year. This event celebrated 175 years and the children’s hard work. Good Friday-Easter Vigil-Easter Sunday 2018 March 30-April 1, 2018 These photos provide images from the Good Friday service on March 30, the Easter Vigil on March 31 and an Easter Sunday Mass on April 1. The service on Good Friday afternoon celebrated Jesus’ saving death on the wood of the cross. This included the Passion narrative from St. John’s Gospel and veneration of the cross -- with the congregation coming forward to genuflect, touch or kiss the cross. On Holy Saturday evening, the blessing of the Easter fire and the lighting of the Easter candle marked the beginning of the Easter Vigil. During the services of Light, Word, Water and Eucharist we welcomed new members to our faith community. The Easter Vigil and the Easter Sunday Masses brought back many joyous alleluias to celebrate that Jesus Christ is risen!
