Photos of Parish Life Ash Wednesday 2023 St. Francis Borgia Parish celebrated Ash Wednesday on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. Ash Wednesday marks the first day of the season of Lent. During the Mass, ashes are placed on each individual's forehead in the shape of a cross to represent repentance for sin. All Saints Day 2022 On Wednesday, Oct. 26, children from St. Francis Borgia's St. Bonaventure Choir and Christian Formation program once again celebrated All Saints' Day with an evening filled with prayer, fun, games and Saints! The popular saint-themed games were back again and many teenagers and adults were "real life Saints" who interacted with the children and talked about their lives. The children prepared for the event by learning about a saint of their choice and completing a saint project, which was entered in a contest. Thank you to everyone who made this party possible. As is evident in the photos, the festival was a fun event for children of all ages. Fr. Justin Lopina entertained the crowd with his juggling, and the Uganda Twinning booth offered handmade crafts from East Africa. An appreciative audience enjoyed the food and beverages served in the main tent, while they listened to music by parishioner groups. This included local entertainer and parishioner Vic DiCristo with his band “The Generation Gap.” Other activities included a pancake breakfast, book sale, silent auction, bingo, and a raffle. An exciting feature of this year’s festival was the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Education & Activity Center. Pictures from that event are provided as a separate Photo Gallery item.
