St. Francis Borgia Parish enjoys a twinning relationship with the people of St. Paul the Apostle Parish in Mukono, Uganda in East Africa. Launched in 2000, it is one of several such relationships recognized, supported, and encouraged by the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.
The term “twinning,” widely used both here and abroad, emphasizes the mutual, human, bilateral nature of the parish-to-parish connection — its spiritual, social, and personal foundation as well as its financial dimension. Many parishioners have contributed generously to a range of projects over the years to benefit St. Paul Mukono. And some have benefited from the blessings of being with our twins here and in Uganda. These interactions reinforce our friendship and help us to understand and appreciate the beauty and richness of our global Church.
Are you curious to learn more? To date, we have travelled five times to Mukono, and our twins have visited us five times. There are numerous ways to get involved — travelling to Uganda, hosting or spending time with our Ugandan twins during their visits, meeting to plan activities throughout the year that help guide and deepen our twinning relationship, or offering encouragement and prayers.
