Are you interested in seeing Franciscan values in action? Spend a day with Sr. Edna Lonergan for a one-on-one experience of how the message of the Gospel comes alive at St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care, a unique multigenerational service center sponsored by her community, the Sisters of St Francis of Assisi.
With two campuses located on the north and south side of Milwaukee, St. Ann Center provides day care for children and also serves the elderly and adults with disabilities, offering intergenerational activities, rehabilitation, therapy, swimming, overnight respite and more. Putting Franciscan values into practice, the sisters recognize the human dignity of each person and help them discover or rediscover their purpose.
If you choose to spend the day with Sr. Edna, you will take part in intergenerational activities, reflecting how four specific Franciscan values are at the core of the center’s ministry: creating a caring community, showing compassion, reverencing all of creation and making peace. It will be a day to experience God’s transformative energy as you witness children and adults, their teachers and caregivers embrace the work of healing and growing together.
