Edge Cup
Welcome to the Edge Cup!
This semester, we are introducing a new, friendly competition to EDGE, designed to inspire camaraderie among groups, encourage more participation in the life of the Church, and add some friendly competition!
If you’ve ever seen Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, where Gryffindor wins the House Cup, the concept is very similar! We will be awarding points for good behaviors, and removing points for bad behaviors.
There IS a real trophy, along with other prizes, and each House (small group) Can win points in the following ways!
Since there are some differences in numbers in each House (small group), points will be prorated (i.e. if something is worth 10 pts, your EDGE kid can earn 10/x pts, where x is the number of people in his/her House (small group)!
Parents, thank you in advance for your support of EDGE and your kids’ spiritual growth during the coming semester!
May the best House win!
Here is the point system:
Weekly Challenge (Given at the end of Edge night):
One person who completes challenge: 10 pts available, prorated to the number of house members
If the entire Edge small Group completes the challenge, 10 additional points
Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet (card handed out in Dec) or rosary:
(Completion must be verified with a signed note from parents)
Each person who prays – 1 point
Attendance at Edge nights and other EDGE events:
Each person = 10 pts/number of house members per person in attendance
10 additional pts if entire group is present
Attend Sunday Mass:
Each person who attends – 25 pts/number of house members per person
If the entire Edge small group attends on a weekend – 25 additional points
Go to Confession:
Going to confession: 3 pts per confession
