The Corporal Work of Mercy to bury the dead provides an opportunity to show support and comfort of our fellow parishioners by hosting a luncheon following a funeral. Funeral luncheons are offered in St. Francis Borgia’s North church hall through the services of an outside caterer and served by the Christian Women’s Circle Ministry. Beverages and desserts as well as set up and clean up are also provided by the ministry.
The committee has two volunteer components: dessert bakers and luncheon servers who would set up, serve and clean up. You are most welcome to participate in either or both components. Bakers and servers are contacted prior to the funeral to check on availability. Desserts are delivered to the North church hall prior to the event. Time commitment for servers is roughly 2 ½ to 3 hours.
