Respect Life Ministry

Human life is sacred and inviolable at every moment of existence, including the initial phase which precedes birth. All human beings, from their mothers’ womb, belong to God who searches them and knows them, who forms them and knits them together with his own hands, who gazes on them when they are tiny shapeless embryos and already sees in them the adults of tomorrow whose days are numbered and whose vocation is even now written in the “book of life.”  – Evangelium Vitae

Our mission is to spread the gospel of life by sharing the teachings of the Catholic Church on life issues through parish education, outreach, prayer, and to support local organizations that respect the dignity of human life from conception to natural death, especially those organizations that provide unplanned pregnancy support.

Our Respect life committee has many facets:

  • Prayer Opportunities: 40 Days for Life prayer witness outside local abortion clinic, March for Life bus trip to Washington DC, dedicated holy hours, Roe v. Wade anniversary, Hours of Reparation
  • Education Opportunities: movies, speakers, Respect Life table, NFP, current events sent via email
  • Fundraising opportunities: Dinners, bingo nights, layette drives, Mother’s Day rose sale, baby bottle drive for Pro-Life Wisconsin, Women’s Support Center, Women’s Care Center
  • Miscarriage & post-abortion resources: partnership with Life’s connection, Rachel’s Vineyard, Project Rachel & Archdiocese support

“How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As always, we must persuade her with LOVE, and we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts.” – St Teresa of Calcutta
