RCIA sessions beginning Oct. 10

Are you interested in becoming Catholic? Are you an unbaptized adult who would like to be baptized into the Catholic Church? Are you a baptized adult Christian who is considering expressing your faith as a Catholic Chris-tian? Are you a Catholic over the age of 18 who was never Confirmed, but would like to now receive the sacrament? Are you married to a practicing Catholic and would like to study your spouse’s faith to see if Catholicism is the right faith for you?

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is the process through which people who answer “yes” to questions such as those above are introduced to Catholic beliefs and practices. It is a period of prayer, reflection, instruction, discernment and formation.

Al Johnson will be leading the sessions at St. Francis Borgia. They will begin Sunday, Oct. 10 with participants gathering in the conference room in the parish center (office) between the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Masses.

Participating in RCIA is not a commitment to join the Catholic Church, but rather a process that leads to a deeper faith and, hopefully, a commitment to Jesus Christ as a Catholic Christian.

For those wishing to join the Church, the process at St. Francis Borgia is completed when candidates are welcomed into the Church at the Easter Vigil.

For more information about RCIA or to schedule an appointment with Fr. Patrick to discuss RCIA, please email Yvonne Wolfe, Fr. Patrick’s assistant, or call her at 262-377-1070.
